Architecture
From an architect’s perspective, there are two ways to optimize the return on technology investment; fit and efficiency. Good architecture meets business requirements (fit) while minimizing cost/complexity/risk (efficiency).
Since software can be made to do virtually anything, end users frequently end up dictating the design. Software is made to meet thousands of business requirements unabated by efficiency concerns.
Another common practice in technology is to let the builder do the design. Unfortunately, the builder’s competencies and capacity are likely to influence the design; additionally the builder may not be best suited to manage scope since complexity equates to additional dollars.
Whether A-Frame is doing the architecture or working with an architect, we believe in an independent architect and a design/bid/build process.
